The town’s traditional fishermen created a recipe based on a combination of fresh products. In coves or at home "Suquet" was cooked, a simple dish of freshly caught fish boiled with potatoes. Over time, this homemade recipe has been enriched with the incorporation of typically Mediterranean products, giving rise to different versions of this dish. The restaurants taking part in the “Suquet de Peix de Roses” campaign present various versions of this traditional fisherman’s dish, as well as offering a wide range of wines from the Empordà region.
